5 Myths of Motherhood by Doula Martha Learner

Martha Lerner is a native Floridian, born and raised in Miami from parents of Cuban descent.  She speaks English and Spanish fluently and was a Spanish teacher for Broward County Public schools for over fifteen years.  Martha has always been passionate about birth and pregnancy and comes from a long line of midwives in Cuba.  A decade before the birth of her own son, she began taking childbirth & breastfeeding classes to satisfy her curiosity and the birth work field began to call to her.

In 2015 Martha left teaching to follow her dream and merge her passions and talents with her career.  She founded zenmamalove LLC, her newest “baby” where she can fully focus on serving her community from her heart.  She is a certified labor doula through CAPPA, and is an ACAM certified Aromatherapist.  She is currently finishing her certification to become a Midwife’s Assistant.

  1. Awesome job busting those myths Martha! I truly feel that the post partum period is one of the most important and ignored in life. It’s an area where we really need to improve and I’m in Canada where services are pretty decent.
